PRIVATE LESSON POLICIES

By enrolling for instruction at Moore Music Lesson Studios, the student reserves a weekly lesson with a private instructor. Students are responsible for attending their reserved times.

Students will be billed per calendar month; payment must be made in advance for the upcoming month’s lessons.

Payment for the first four lessons plus a non-refundable registration fee is due before the first lesson.

Rates

There is a $35 registration fee to enroll in lessons. After 30 days of lesson inactivity, there will be a $20 re-registration fee to resume instruction. Lesson rates are as follows:

30-minute lesson = $25.00

45-minute lesson = $35.00

60-minute lesson = $45.00

METHODS OF PAYMENT

A valid credit card number must be kept on file regardless of payment method.

  • Credit card auto pay: Cards are drafted on the 1st of each month. The authorization form attached must be completed and submitted along with the initial payment.

  • Any student not paid in full on the 11th day of the month will be dropped from the program and subject to a non-refundable re-registration fee of $20.

    ABSENCES
It is important to understand that instructors arrange their schedules to be here for the student at the designated time. Therefore, cancellations are discouraged. In the event that a cancellation is unavoidable, please contact the Lesson Studio Director as far in advance as possible. The policies and procedures for cancellations are as follows:

  • Excused absences: At least 24-hour notice must be given in order to qualify for an excused absence. Excused absences will be credited back to your account and applied to the following month’s lessons, or a make-up lesson may be scheduled at the instructor’s discretion.
  • Excused absence limit: There will be a limit of three excused absences per six-month period. The two six-month periods per year are January-June and July-December. After this limit, all absences will be considered unexcused.
  • Unexcused absences: Cancellations with less than 24-hour notice will be unexcused, regardless of the reason. No credit will be issued or make-ups scheduled in these instances. However, please do notify us if you will miss a lesson, as no calls / no shows will eventually result in being dropped from the lesson program.
  • No call / no shows: After two no call / no shows per six-month period (January-June and July-December), the student will be dropped from the lesson program, and a non-refundable re-registration fee of $20 will be required to resume lessons.
  • Excessive absences: Excessive unexcused absences of any kind will result in the student being dropped from the lesson program, and re-registration will be required to resume.
  • Instructor absences: In the event an instructor needs to cancel a lesson, your account will be credited or a make-up lesson scheduled.
  • Lateness: If a student is more than ten minutes late, the instructor is not obligated to wait, and the lesson will count as an unexcused absence.

  • INCLEMENT WEATHER / SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

When Guilford County Schools are closed due to inclement weather and Moore Music is open, the Lesson Studios will be open on a provisional basis. This means that if the teacher and student can safely travel to Moore Music, lessons will be taught. If a lesson is missed due to a concern about safe travel on a day the Guilford County schools are closed due to the weather, a credit will be issued to your account or a make-up lesson scheduled. If Moore Music is closed due to inclement weather, all lessons will be canceled for that day and a credit will be issued to your account or a make-up lesson scheduled.

The Lesson Studios are independent of Guilford County’s academic calendar, so lessons are not necessarily canceled because of a school holiday. Your instructor will notify you in advance of holiday cancellations and your account will be credited or a make-up lesson scheduled.

    VACATIONS / EXTENDED ABSENCES

The student must give a written or emailed two-week notice to the Lesson Studio Director if a student will be away for a planned absence, such as a vacation. The student is financially responsible for all lessons until the two-week period expires, whether or not these lessons are attended. Please provide earlier notice if possible; this will ensure that the lessons do not enter the billing system.

A lesson time slot can only be held for a period of 30 days, no matter what the reason for the absence.

    TERMINATION OF LESSONS

The student must give a written or emailed two-week notice to the Lesson Studio Director if lessons are to be permanently discontinued. The student is financially responsible for all lessons until the two-week period expires, whether or not these lessons are attended.
