PRIVATE LESSON POLICIES

By enrolling for instruction at Moore Music Lesson Studios, the student reserves a weekly lesson with a private instructor. Students are responsible for attending their reserved times.

Students will be billed per calendar month; payment must be made in advance for the upcoming month’s lessons.

Rates

There is a $35 registration fee to enroll in lessons. After 30 days of lesson inactivity, there will be a $20 re-registration fee to resume instruction. Lesson rates are as follows:

30-minute lesson = $25.00

45-minute lesson = $35.00 - (limited availability)

60-minute lesson = $45.00

METHODS OF PAYMENT

Credit/Debit Card Auto-Pay: Statements are sent out on the 1st of the month via email by the Director of Music Education. Cards are drafted for autopay on the 5th of the month. The autopay authorization form must be completed and submitted along with the initial lesson payment. Autopay is the only form of payment so lessons are pre-paid on a monthly basis. Any student not paid in full by the 11th of the month will have lessons suspended until payment is received.

ABSENCES
It is important to understand instructors arrange their schedules to be here for the student at the designated time. Like you, their schedules are very busy as are our lesson studios. Cancellations are discouraged, as make-up lessons are challenging to schedule.

In the event a cancellation is unavoidable, please contact the Director of Music Education (mooremusiclessons@gmail.com)as far in advance as possible.

The policies and procedures for cancellations are as follows:

Excused Absences: require a minimum of 24-hour notification. Excused absences will be credited back to your account and applied to the following month’s lessons, or a make-up lesson may be scheduled at the instructor’s discretion.
  • Excused absences limit: there is a limit of three (3) excused absences per three-month period (Jan-Mar/Apr-Jun/Jul-Sept/Oct-Dec). After this limit, all absences will be considered unexcused.
Unexcused Absences: Cancellations with less than 24-hour notice will be unexcused, regardless of the reason. No credit will be issued or make-ups scheduled in these instances. However, please do notify us if you will miss a lesson so we can let the teacher know.
  • No call/no shows: After two consecutive no call/no shows, the student will be dropped from the lesson program, and a non-refundable re-registration fee of $20 will be required to resume lessons.
  • Excessive Absences: Excessive unexcused absences of any kind will result in the student being dropped from the lesson program, and re-registration will be required to resume.

Instructor Absences: In the event an instructor needs to cancel a lesson, your account will be credited or a make-up lesson scheduled.

Lateness: If a student is more than ten (10) minutes late, the instructor is not obligated to wait, and the lesson will count as an unexcused absence.

  • INCLEMENT WEATHER / SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

The Lesson Studios are independent of Guilford County’s schedule, so lessons are not necessarily cancelled because of a school holiday or inclement weather. The Director of Music Education will notify you in advance of holiday or weather cancellations, and your account will be credited or a make-up lesson scheduled.

    VACATIONS / EXTENDED ABSENCES

The student must give a written two-week notice to the Director of Music Education if a student will be away for a planned absence, such as a long vacation. The student is financially responsible for all lessons until the two-week period expires, whether or not these lessons are attended. Please provide earlier notice if possible; this will ensure that the lessons do not enter the billing system.

A lesson time slot can only be held for a period of 30 days, no matter what the reason for the absence.

    LESSON TERMINATION

The student must give a written two-week notice to the Director of Music Education if lessons are to be permanently discontinued (mooremusiclessons@gmail.com). The student is financially responsible for all lessons until the two-week period expires, whether or not these lessons are attended.
