| ALLEN ORGANS | |
Allen Organ Company was founded by Jerome Markowitz in 1937. He developed and built the world’s first Electronic Organ. This was made possible after the US Patent Office granted him the patent for the “stable audio oscillator”.
Allen pioneered the use of transistors to replace vacuum tube oscillators. In 1971, Allen Organ Company introduced the world’s first “digital computer organ”. Allen was awarded the IR-100 Award in 1972 acknowledging the product as one of the 100 most significant inventions.
With the most advanced digital technology of tone generation called RENAISSANCE, you are assured of achieving the highest quality sound. With the addition of QUANTUM (4 entirely separate suites of specifications – American Classic, English Cathedral, French Romantic, and Neo-Classic) and ACOUSTIC PORTRAIT (the digital sampling of a specific room – ie. Cathedral, Auditorium, Church), you can experience your musical selections with the proper registration in a specific environment
ALLEN ORGAN COMPANY is the oldest and largest builder of Traditional Church Organs, and Theater Organs, in the world. They are the leading developer of digital computer organs. Allen also builds consoles to replace worn out or aging pipe organ consoles. They build custom digital/pipe consoles to interface with new or existing pipe divisions. However, music in many of today’s houses of worship is experiencing expansion in style and presentation. This has increased the complexity of – and the demand for – sound system installations. For traditional music requirements, pipeless organs have their own audio systems to optomize their sound. A separate PA system is also required for the spoken word. These two sound reinforcement requirements are different. The addition of contemporary music with keyboards and CD players place even more demand upon a church’s audio installation. These products require a separate, third audio system consisting of free-standing amps and speakers. Allen Organs with Expanded Audio Capabilities offer unique solutions to reduce costs, improve tonal results, and make more efficient use of worship space, by incorporating the sounds of keyboards, CD players, etc, through the organ’s more efficient, higher quality, and strategically placed speakers. The EAC Input box has two ¼” Mono jacks for stereo MIDI Keyboard, two RCA jacks for stereo,, and two XLR balanced jacks. Now, congregations can experience ‘Traditional” and “Blended” worship services in the same sanctuary.
If you are considering a small 2-manual classic or theater organ, a 3, 4, 5-manual, custom, or digital-pipe custom organ, Allen can build it for you. Several artists have commissioned Allen to build organs with their own specification and voicing – Diane Bish, George Wright, Walt Strony, and Lyn Larson
